Kalmar FF lived up to expectations when they faced IF Brommapojkarna at home on Monday evening. After a tight first half in which both teams created chances, it was the home team that came out on top.
In the 37th minute, Daniel Freire Mendes opened the scoring for Kalmar FF when he volleyed the ball into the net behind the goalkeeper. IF Brommapojkarna responded with aggressive play and tried to get the equalizer before halftime, but they were unsuccessful.
The second half began with a yellow card for IF Brommapojkarna's Joakim Runnemo, followed by two more yellow cards for the same team, for Kim Odelius and Pär Asp. Kalmar FF took advantage of Brännkyrka's disciplinary shortcomings, and in the 60th minute, Erik Israelsson increased the lead to 2-0 with a nice right-footed shot.
Kalmar FF continued to press on, and just three minutes later, Henrik Rydström converted a penalty kick after Abiola Dauda was brought down in the penalty area. It was 3-0 to Kalmar FF, and the match was essentially decided.
Both teams made several substitutions towards the end of the match, but none had any effect on the outcome. After the final whistle, Kalmar FF emerged as happy winners at 3-0. Kalmar FF thus moved up to 9th place in the table, while IF Brommapojkarna dropped to 13th place.
