Malmö FF hosted IFK Göteborg in an important match at Swedbank Stadion on Sunday afternoon. The home team was leading the table before the match and wanted to continue their winning strategy against a Göteborg side that was in fifth place.

In the 32nd minute, Daniel Andersson received a yellow card for Malmö FF after a tough tackle. But just six minutes later, Andersson became the first goal scorer of the match, giving Malmö FF a 1-0 lead.

IFK Göteborg did not give up and had a chance to equalize just before halftime, but Nicklas Carlsson received a yellow card instead.

In the second half, Jakob Olsson Johansson was substituted for Tobias Sana in Göteborg shortly before Malmö FF's Daniel Larsson doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute.

IFK Göteborg continued to fight, and Erik Lund Fahlen received a yellow card in the 66th minute. However, it was in the 80th minute that Tobias Hysén finally found the back of the net for Göteborg, reducing the score to 2-1.

But it wasn't enough to close the gap, and in the end, it was Malmö FF who emerged victorious. Stefan Selakovic received a yellow card in the closing minutes, and both Malmö FF and IFK Göteborg made player substitutions in an attempt to influence the result. But it was too late for Göteborg to recover the deficit, and the match ended 2-1 in favor of Malmö FF.
