Mjällby AIF took the lead already after 20 minutes of play when Mostapha El Kabir scored. Djurgården tried to get back into the match but instead received a warning when Kebba Ceesay picked up a yellow card in the 20th minute.
Mjällby then received a warning when Mzee Patrick Ooko Osiako received his yellow card in the 42nd minute. During the second half, the cautions continued as both Mostapha El Kabir and Luis Antonio Rodriguez received yellow cards in the 61st minute.
Djurgården continued to attempt to score but failed to find the back of the net. Instead, they were dealt a sending-off when Prince Ekong received his second yellow card and had to leave the pitch in the 66th minute.
Mjällby took advantage of this by making two substitutions, which proved successful as Peter Gitselov came on and scored in the 73rd minute. Djurgården made two substitutions in an attempt to get back into the match, but it didn't help.
Mjällby went on to punish Djurgården further by scoring their third goal in the 90th minute when Peter Gitselov found the net again. The match ended with a convincing victory for Mjällby AIF, who took home the match with a score of 3-0 in front of an audience of 3,528 at Strandvallen A-plan.
