Helsingborgs IF delivered a strong away victory against IF Elfsborg at Borås Arena. The match started with a tough beginning as Jon Jönsson from IF Elfsborg received a yellow card already in the sixth minute. However, it was Helsingborgs IF that reaped the rewards for their early pressing game when May Mahlangu scored the opening goal in the eleventh minute.
IF Elfsborg struggled to get back into the match, but Jesper Christiansen received a yellow card in the twelfth minute and Oscar Hiljemark in the twenty-seventh minute. Just before halftime, IF Elfsborg equalized through Mathias Florén in the forty-fifth minute after a nice attacking sequence.
After the break, Helsingborgs IF decided the match with two quick goals, the first from Erik Sundin in the fifty-eighth minute and the second from the same player in the seventy-third minute. IF Elfsborg tried to substitute in Martin Ericsson and Amadou Jawo to inject some sharpness into the attack, but it did not help.
Helsingborgs IF then managed to hold on and won the match 1 - 3 at Borås Arena. IF Elfsborg's day did not get any better when Daniel Mobaeck was substituted in the eighty-first minute and replaced by Daniel Nordmark. A strong performance by Helsingborgs IF, who continue their good form and thus earn another three points in the Allsvenskan.
