Malmö FF hosted Mjällby AIF at home in front of a full Swedbank Stadion on Sunday afternoon. Malmö led the league before the match and had the chance to secure the championship. Mjällby, on their side, sat in fifth place in the table.

The match started with a high tempo as Malmö took control of the game right away. After 17 minutes of play, Malmö FF was awarded a free kick in a dangerous position. Jiloan Mohamed Hamad stepped up and perfectly placed the ball into the net behind Mjällby’s goalkeeper, making it 1-0 to the home team. The second goal did not take long to arrive either, as in the 44th minute, Agon Mehmeti headed in a cross to extend Malmö's lead.

At halftime, Mjällby made a substitution in an attempt to change the game’s dynamics. But Malmö continued to control the match and created several dangerous chances. In the 63rd minute, Mjällby made their second substitution, but Malmö was still able to hold them off.

Malmö made two substitutions, one of which was to try to secure the victory, and they succeeded. Mjällby, however, attempted to defend but could not muster any sharp shots on goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, it was clear - Malmö FF won the league and can now call themselves Swedish champions of 2010. Mjällby AIF finished in sixth place in the final table.
