The Sunday afternoon offered an exciting match between IF Elfsborg and AIK at Borås Arena. In front of an audience of over 10,000, the match kicked off, and it was AIK that took control of the game. Already after 25 minutes, Mohamed Bangura found the net and gave AIK the lead. He also managed to score 0-2 after an assist from Robert Åhman Persson just six minutes later.
However, IF Elfsborg stepped up and managed to reduce the deficit after 33 minutes through Niklas Hult with a pass from David Elm. Before halftime, AIK also had Lee Baxter sent off due to a brutal tackle.
IF Elfsborg chose to make two substitutions at halftime, and it seemed to have an effect. Daniel Nordmark set up David Elm, who scored his second goal of the day and equalized to 2-2 after 64 minutes.
AIK received several yellow cards during the match and opted to bring in Kenny Pavey and Kevin Walker to try to turn the game around, but the score held until the final whistle. AIK's Mohamed Bangura also received a yellow card, but despite that, he had a strong match with two goals and one assist.
The match ended 2-2, and the teams shared the points. Referee Daniel Stålhammar was kept busy with several warnings and a red card but managed to keep the match under control.
