IF Elfsborg defeats Halmstad BK 3-2 after a thrilling match at Borås Arena. Elfsborg started strong, and already in the second minute, Martin Ericsson fired off a shot that sailed in behind the goalkeeper. Elfsborg continued to press, and in the ninth minute, Niklas Hult extended the lead after a cross from Ericsson.

Halmstad grew into the match and substituted in Javier Hernández, who would prove to be a game changer. Right after the break, Marcus Olsson reduced the deficit for Halmstad with a nice pass from Michael Görlitz. Halmstad fought on, and Hernández dominated in midfield. In the 73rd minute, he was able to slot the ball into the net after a great individual effort.

But Elfsborg had other ideas and continued to push forward. In the 88th minute, Lars Nilsson received the ball and without hesitation, pushed it into the goal. However, the match was not over, and Halmstad kept pressing forward. But Elfsborg's defense held strong, and the match ended 3-2 in favor of the home team.

The victory means that Elfsborg climbs to third place in the table, while Halmstad remains in last place. The attendance at Borås Arena was 8,209, and the match was officiated by Johan Hamlin with assistance from Magnus Sjöblom and Peter Martinsson.
