BK Häcken won big at home at Rambergsvallen when they faced Mjällby AIF in Sunday evening's Allsvenskan match, in front of a crowd of 1,927 spectators. The match was completely dominated by the home team, who took the lead already in the seventh minute when John Chibuike scored to make it 1-0. Mjällby tried to fight back, but it was Häcken that controlled the game and created the most dangerous chances. Patrik Rosengren and Mzee Patrick Ooko Osiako both received yellow cards within a minute of each other, highlighting the frustration in the visiting team. In the nineteenth minute, René Makondele Muzola scored to make it 2-0 after an assist from John Chibuike. Before the halftime break, Kari Arkivuo also scored to increase Häcken's lead to 3-0 with a fine header.

The second half continued in the same fashion. Mjällby tried to push forward, but Häcken defended well while also looking to extend their lead. In the 59th minute, Mathias Ranégie made it 4-0 after a nice pass from René Makondele Muzola. A few minutes later, the visiting team brought on Daniel Nicklasson, but it had little effect on the match. Instead, Häcken continued to dominate, and in the 72nd minute, John Chibuike scored his second goal of the evening, again assisted by René Makondele Muzola. After this, Häcken substituted Peter Nyström, who quickly scored to make it 5-0 with a stylish shot. However, Häcken was not done yet and continued to press forward. In the 77th minute, Peter Nyström scored his second and final goal of the evening, effectively sealing Mjällby's fate. Before the final whistle, the guests substituted Simon Nilsson, but it was too late for them to make any significant difference. The match ultimately ended 6-0 in favor of Häcken, who convincingly showed which team was stronger that evening.
