Djurgården's supporters had gathered at Stockholm Stadium to see their favorite club face Trelleborg FF. The match kicked off at half-past four on Sunday afternoon, and the attendance of 6,307 made their presence known through loud singing from the eastern stand.
In the 23rd minute, Trelleborg FF player Joakim Nilsson Ingves received a yellow card for a tough tackle. However, two minutes later, Trelleborg FF saw the ball fly into Djurgården's net after Fredrik Jensen struck a fine shot from the penalty area. The away team led 1-0.
Djurgården did not lose hope, and a quick substitution of Mattias Jonsson for Chibuike Kennedy Igboananike in the 27th minute gave Djurgården new energy on the pitch. In the 31st minute, Nikolaj Agger managed to equalize the match after a good pass from Sebastian Rajalakso.
After the halftime whistle, Djurgården shifted into a higher gear, and it took just four minutes for Igboananike to score the club's second goal and give the home team the lead. In the 64th minute, Trelleborg FF made their first substitution, bringing on Mattias Adelstam for Johan Guiomar. Djurgården responded by substituting Kebba Ceesay for Emil Bergström.
In the 74th minute, it was Trelleborg FF's turn to come back as Jensen scored his second goal of the day after a nice assist from Adelstam. But it took Djurgården only two minutes to regain the lead when Igboananike scored his third goal of the day after a pass from Agger.
Trelleborg FF, however, showed that they did not want to give up when Kristian Haynes equalized to 3-3 just a minute later. But in the 81st minute, it was once again Igboananike's turn to find the net after a great pass from Daniel Sjölund, sealing the final score at 4-3.
Djurgården's supporters celebrated wildly in the stands while Trelleborg FF showed their disappointment at losing a tough match. Referee Daniel Stålhammar effectively officiated the game, alongside assistant referees Daniel Wärnmark and Tobias Wärn.
