Mjällby AIF secured an important victory with a score of 2-1 against IF Elfsborg at Strandvallen's A-field on Saturday afternoon. The home team opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Daniel Nilsson made it 1-0 after a nice assist from David Löfquist. Mjällby continued to apply pressure, and in the 61st minute, Marcus Ekenberg extended the lead to 2-0 following another assist from Löfquist.

Elfsborg tried to come back into the match and made a few substitutions in the second half that improved their play. Stefan Ishizaki reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 76th minute after a quick counterattack. Elfsborg continued to press for the remainder of the match but was unable to find the decisive goal.

The match was intense, and the referees were required to issue several warnings. Mjällby's Pavel Zavadil received his first yellow card in the 32nd minute and was substituted in the 65th minute to avoid a second yellow card.
