The match began with both teams attempting to take command of the game, and the dominance evened out during the first thirty minutes. In the 29th minute, BK Häcken made their first substitution, with Tom Söderberg coming on for Mak Lind. Just before halftime, Dioh Williams received a yellow card for bringing down a Malmö player.

Malmö FF made a substitution at halftime, bringing on Jasmin Sudic for Daniel Andersson. Wilton Figueiredo received a yellow card in the 55th minute for a tough tackle on a Häcken player. In the 60th minute, BK Häcken made their second substitution, with Joel Anell replacing Dioh Williams.

In the 81st minute, Tom Söderberg received a yellow card for a foul just outside the penalty area. Both teams fought intensely to decide the match until the very end. Malmö FF made two substitutions in the closing stages of the match, with Alexander Nilsson Likourentzos replacing Daniel Larsson in the 84th minute and Amin Nazari coming on for Simon Thern in the 88th minute.

BK Häcken made a second substitution in the 88th minute, with Johnas Henriksson replacing Björn Anklev. However, the score remained 0 - 0 when the referee blew the final whistle after 90 minutes.
