The home team started strong, and it didn't take long before Nikola Djurdjic broke the deadlock and scored 1-0 for Helsingborgs IF in the 36th minute. Alejandro Bedoya was credited with the assist on the goal.

Örebro fought to get back into the match and had a chance to reduce the deficit just before halftime. However, Mohammed Khalid Saeid received a yellow card instead, and the score remained 1-0 in favor of the home team.

In the second half, Helsingborg continued to dominate, and Örebro was forced to resort to physical play, resulting in yellow cards for Ahmed Yasin and later Alhasan A Haestad Kamara.

Helsingborgs IF brought on both Daniel Nordmark and Thomas Braathen Sørum in the 68th minute, while Örebro introduced Marcus Astvald and later Valdet Rama.
