IFK Norrköping FK continued their successful season in the Allsvenskan by defeating GIF Sundsvall 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Idrottsparken. The home team, which was fighting to avoid relegation, had no chance against a strong Norrköping side that took the lead just eight minutes into the match through Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson, assisted by James Frempong.
Norrköping continued to dominate the game, and Lars Christian Krogh Gerson extended the lead to 2-0 after 27 minutes with Martin Smedberg Dalence providing the assist. Christoffer Nyman received a yellow card for Norrköping in the 32nd minute, followed by teammate Thorvaldsson who was also booked in the 40th minute.
Thorvaldsson continued to impress and increased the lead to 3-0 in the 44th minute thanks to another assist from Smedberg Dalence. At halftime, Sundsvall made two substitutions as Johan Eklund and Robert Lundström came on for Pa Amat Dibba and Simon Helg.
Isaac Thelin was substituted in for Norrköping in the 60th minute, and three minutes later, Thorvaldsson scored his third goal of the match, bringing Norrköping's lead to 4-0.
Jón Gudni Fjóluson came on for GIF Sundsvall in the 69th minute in place of Stefan Ålander. Christopher Rasmus Nilsson Telo was substituted in for Norrköping in the 70th minute, and Armin Tankovic came in in the 79th minute instead of Bobbie Friberg José Da Cruz.
Norrköping maintained their lead and won the match 4-0, continuing their impressive form in the Allsvenskan, while Sundsvall struggled at the bottom of the table with only one match left in the season. The referee for the match was Tobias Mattsson, with assistants Stefan Hallberg and Mikael Hallin. 2,584 spectators attended the match at Idrottsparken.
