BK Häcken secured second place in Allsvenskan by defeating GIF Sundsvall 2-1 away from home. It was a closely contested match at Idrottsparken in front of 2,689 spectators on Sunday afternoon. BK Häcken took the lead early in the second half when Waris Majeed scored from a fine pass by Martin Ericsson. GIF Sundsvall quickly equalized with a beautiful strike from Fredrik Holster. René Makondele Muzola received a yellow card for Häcken in the 69th minute and was substituted two minutes later. With seven minutes left in the match, Häcken brought on forward Nasiru Mohammed in place of Makondele Muzola. David Frölund received a yellow card for the away team. Tibor Brink Joza also came on for Häcken. Goal poacher Tom Söderberg gave BK Häcken the lead again with an assist from Martin Ericsson. Fredrik Holster was substituted for Nuri Mustafi for the home team. Josef Elvby came on for Ericsson for HBK. Marcus Danielson of GIF Sundsvall received a yellow card in injury time, just before the referee blew the final whistle. GIF Sundsvall's season is thus over, while BK Häcken continues toward European competition.
