Örebro entered the match with high expectations, facing a GAIS team that already knew in advance they would finish last in the standings after the season.

The match started well for Örebro with an early goal when Ilir Berisha put the ball in the net with an assist from Kalle Holmberg. GAIS tried to create chances, but Örebro remained solid, and it wasn't long before Alhassan A Haestad Kamara scored a goal from another pass by Kalle Holmberg.

Örebro continued to press, and in the 26th minute, Shpëtim Hasani scored the team's third goal after a nice assist from Patrik Anttonen. GAIS substituted Gzim Istrefi in an attempt to make a change, but Örebro continued to dominate the game.

In the 44th minute, Romario Pereira Sipiao received a yellow card for GAIS. In the 72nd minute, Richard Spong was substituted for Linus Tornblad as GAIS sought to change the course of the match. But it didn't help.

In the 74th minute, Kenneth Gustafsson received a yellow card for GAIS, and in the 79th minute, Patrik Haginge was substituted for Boris Lumbana. Örebro kept creating opportunities, and in the 86th minute, GAIS made their last substitution, bringing Oliver Gustafsson in for Dime Jankulovski. At the same time, Ahmed Yasin was replaced by Valdet Rama in Örebro.

The match ended in a true disaster for GAIS, as Shpëtim Hasani scored his second goal of the match in the 90th minute with another excellent assist from Patrik Anttonen. Kalle Holmberg also received a yellow card in the final minutes.

Örebro won convincingly 4-0, thus securing their second-to-last position in the standings, while GAIS had to settle for last place. Örebro supporters celebrated their team, which had shown determination and strength in a match that truly mattered. GAIS fans sang bittersweet songs about their club's failures in this season's Allsvenskan, and thus Örebro closed a dark season with a victory.
