AIK won their second home match of the season after defeating IFK Göteborg 3-1 at the National Arena in tonight's Allsvenskan match. Despite a modest crowd of 24,211, the game featured several heated moments and four issued yellow cards.
IFK Göteborg started strong and took the lead just 24 minutes in with a goal from Philip Haglund. Despite several dangerous opportunities from both teams, the score remained 1-0 for the visitors at halftime.
The second half began differently, and it didn't take long for the home team to equalize when Chibuike Kennedy Igboananike scored after a nice assist from Martin Kayongo-Mutumba.
AIK then took the lead in the 49th minute with a goal from Celso Borges Mora, who received a precise pass from Nabil Bahoui. IFK Göteborg tried to rally but allowed AIK to seal the match with Kayongo-Mutumba's goal in the 80th minute, assisted by Igboananike.
Despite IFK Göteborg's pressure in the final minutes, they couldn't find the back of the net, and the match ended 3-1 in favor of AIK. With this important victory, AIK moved up to 9th place in the standings while IFK Göteborg remained in 3rd place.
