11,067 spectators were present at Guldfågeln Arena in Kalmar to see Kalmar FF face Östers IF in Allsvenskan. Referee Stefan Johannesson blew the whistle to start the match at 19:05 on Thursday evening.

The match started evenly, but in the eighth minute, Kalmar took the lead through a nice pass by Paulus Verneri Arajuuri to Papa Alioune Diouf, who skillfully placed the ball in the goal. Östers tried to create dangerous chances but didn’t pose a real threat until the 32nd minute when Melker Hallberg scored to make it 2-0 for Kalmar.

Östers then received two yellow cards, Darijan Bojanic in the 29th minute and Mario Vasilj in the 31st minute. In the 45th minute, Östers made their first substitution when Freddy Söderberg came on for Pablo Piñones-Arce.

The second half began with a yellow card for Jonathan Ring of Kalmar. But just a few minutes later, Östers reduced the deficit through Denis Velic after a nice pass from Freddy Söderberg. In the 61st minute, Östers made two substitutions, bringing Alexander Henningsson on for Vladica Zlojutro. Kalmar also made two substitutions in the 75th minute, with Henrik Rydström and Jonathan Mc Donald Porras coming on for Melker Hallberg and Jonathan Ring.

In the 83rd minute, Elmin Nurkic received his second yellow card and was sent off for Östers. Kalmar displayed their strength, and in the 90th minute, Jonathan Mc Donald Porras scored his second goal of the match following a fine assist from Ismael Silva Lima, and the match ended 3-1 in favor of Kalmar FF.

A strong home performance by Kalmar FF and a disappointment for Östers IF, who were unable to hold out.
