Halmstads BK put early pressure on Gefle IF FF on Sunday afternoon, but it was the Gästrikland team that took the lead in the fifth minute. Johan Oremo received a nice pass from Jakob Orlov and placed the ball in the net.
Halmstads BK did not get discouraged and just four minutes later, after a fine pass from Gudjón Baldvinsson, Mikael Boman took the ball and made it 1-1.
Gefle IF FF continued to create chances throughout the match, and just before halftime, they took the lead again. Anders Wikström scored 2-1 with a beautiful shot, assisted by Alexander Faltsetas.
The second half continued at a high tempo, and Andreas Landgren from Halmstads BK received a yellow card in the 59th minute.
Halmstads BK desperately tried to get back into the match, and with a substitution of Johan Blomberg, they were able to secure more possession and kept control of the ball.
Gefle IF FF's Faltsetas also received a yellow card in the 68th minute, and both teams continued to play with high intensity.
The guests then substituted Abdulai Zakaria for Simon Lundevall in the 80th minute, followed by a substitution for Emil Bellander, who replaced Johan Oremo just a few minutes later.
The guests had luck on their side until the third minute of stoppage time when Halmstads BK's Johan Blomberg found an equalizer. The final result was 2-2, and the match ended in a draw.
