Malmö FF maintained their league lead after an impressive performance away against IF Elfsborg on Monday evening. Despite the home team starting strong and creating several dangerous chances early in the match, it was Malmö who took the lead in the 36th minute through Guillermo Federico Molins Palmeiro, assisted by Ricardo Ferreira Da Silva.

IF Elfsborg tried to get back into the game and made two substitutions in the second half, but Malmö was solid in defense and continued to threaten offensively. In the 70th minute, Molins Palmeiro extended his goal tally for the evening, following a nice setup by Jiloan Mohamed Hamad.

IF Elfsborg attempted to come back into the match in the end, but Malmö held firm and secured an important three points away from home. Malmö thus extends their lead in the table, while IF Elfsborg continues to fight for a higher position.

Referee Jonas Eriksson officiated the match well and issued three yellow cards, two to Elfsborg and one to Malmö. The crowd at Borås Arena was impressive with 12,039 football supporters in attendance.
