Växjö was full of expectations when Östers IF faced Djurgården at Visma Arena on Sunday afternoon. Östers IF was second to last in the Allsvenskan table and needed to win to increase their chances of avoiding relegation in the season's final match. Djurgården could move up to sixth place with a win. With an audience of 3,847 and referee Andreas Ekberg at the helm, the match began.

It didn’t take long for Östers IF to put pressure on Djurgården. Already in the ninth minute, they managed to score a goal through Pablo Piñones-Arce, assisted by Patrik Rickard Bojent. Djurgården tried to attack and equalize, but they failed on several occasions.

The second half began with a change in Djurgården's lineup. Yussif Alhassan Chibsah replaced Andreas Johansson. However, it didn't take long for Djurgården to find an opening, and in the 62nd minute, Erton Fejzullahu equalized with help from Amadou Jawo.

The game was intense, and both teams had chances to score more goals. With just five minutes remaining, Vladica Zlojutro was substituted for Alexander Henningsson for Östers IF. Shortly after, Patrik Rickard Bojent was replaced by Freddy Söderberg. On Djurgården's side, Amadou Jawo was substituted in favor of Tim Waker.
