Malmö FF took a convincing victory at home against Falkenbergs FF at Swedbank Stadion in Sunday's Allsvenskan match. In front of an audience of 19,383, the match began with good offensive play from the home team. Falkenberg's defense did their best to hold out, but it was only a matter of time before Malmö would break the deadlock.
After half an hour of play, the referee brandished the yellow card for the first time, warning Falkenberg's Godsway Donyoh. Just a few minutes later, Donyoh's teammate Tobias Helldén also received a yellow card. Following this, both teams attempted to score, but it would take until the second half before Malmö could take the lead.
Malmö made a substitution at halftime, bringing on Simon Thern, who would prove to be a key player for the home team. In the 74th minute, Magnus Eriksson scored the first goal for Malmö FF, assisted by Markus Rosenberg.
A few minutes later, Falkenberg made their first substitution, bringing on David Svensson. However, Falkenberg's defense was not strong enough to stop Simon Thern, who scored two goals within five minutes. The first in the 85th minute, assisted again by Rosenberg, and then in the 90th minute, with an assist from Emil Forsberg. Malmö then sealed the match completely in the first minute of stoppage time when Pawel Cibicki substituted for Forsberg, and the final score showed 3-0.
Despite Falkenberg FF's attempts to fight their way back into the match, Malmö FF was the better team on this evening. The result meant that Malmö FF temporarily climbed to second place in Allsvenskan, just two points behind the league leaders.
