IFK Göteborg dominated the match from the first kick and never gave Åtvidabergs FF a chance to come back. Just 22 minutes in, the home team took the lead with a brilliant through ball from Sam Larsson to Lasse Vibe, who easily put the ball in the net. Åtvidabergs FF tried to pick up the pace and had a chance at halftime with a substitution that gave them extra energy. But it wasn't enough – IFK Göteborg's dominance continued. Yellow cards were issued in both directions, but it was IFK Göteborg that capitalized on the opportunities. In the 66th minute, Vibe scored his second goal, and ten minutes later, Sam Larsson added the third goal after a nice combination play with substitute May Mahlangu. With intense pressure from IFK Göteborg, hope began to fade for Åtvidabergs FF in the second half. Vibe then scored another goal, his third of the match and 22nd in Allsvenskan, before being substituted to loud cheers from the home crowd. Darijan Bojanic sealed the match with a goal in the second minute of stoppage time, after a lovely pass from Robin Söder. IFK Göteborg's victory with 5-0 was met with thunderous applause from the fans at Gamla Ullevi.
