Mjällby AIF took on IFK Göteborg at Strandvallen A-plan on a sunny Sunday afternoon. In front of 5906 people, Johan Hamlin blew for kick-off and it was Mjällby who started best. After just twelve minutes, the lead goal came when an IFK back nodded the ball into his own goal.
IFK Göteborg tried to equalize but Mjällby's defense stood firm. At the end of the half Jasmin Sudic received a warning for a tough tackle.

Mjällby then substituted Kwame Bonsu and IFK Göteborg responded by substituting Gustav Engvall. In the final minutes, Rasmus Persson was also substituted for Mjällby and then tackled hard which resulted in a warning.
The match ended 3-0 to Mjällby AIF who moved up to seventh place in the table while IFK Göteborg fell to tenth place.
