The attendance record for the season was shattered when Djurgården hosted IF Elfsborg at Tele2 Arena in an exciting Allsvenskan match. Martin Strömbergsson was the referee and was assisted by Daniel Gustavsson and Stefan Hallberg as assistant referees.
Both teams started the match by trying to create goal opportunities, but it was IF Elfsborg that took the lead in the 25th minute through Per Frick after a fantastic collaboration with Viktor Claesson. He delivered a perfect cross to Frick, who placed the ball in the net. In the 40th minute, Frick received a yellow card, as did Alexander Faltsetas from Djurgården.
IF Elfsborg continued to defend their lead during the second half of the match while Djurgården became desperate to equalize. The referee handed out four new yellow cards, one to Jesper Manns, one to Anders Svensson, one to Adam Lundqvist, and one to Sebastian Holmén, who kept Elfsborg's defense strong.
Throughout the match, both teams made substitutions in an attempt to change the course of the game. However, none of the substitutions worked for Djurgården, who ultimately lost their concentration and conceded a second goal in the 77th minute. This time it was Arber Zeneli who pushed the ball in after a nice collaboration with Viktor Claesson.
But Djurgården found their way back into the match and reduced the score to 1-2 when Daniel Mikal Aas Berntsen scored in the 81st minute with the help of Sebastian Andersson. Despite this goal, Djurgården could not equalize, and the final score was 1-2 in favor of IF Elfsborg. Djurgården's Kerim Mrabti also received a yellow card towards the end of the match. IF Elfsborg's victory was their second of the season.
