Malmö FF had home advantage when they faced Halmstads BK at Swedbank Stadion in Allsvenskan. Before the match, it was clear that Malmö FF had a more impressive form as they were in second place in the standings. Halmstads BK, on the other hand, had been struggling and sat in fourteenth place.

The match was even from the start, but it took until the 29th minute for the first goal to come. It was Pawel Cibicki who pushed the ball behind Halmstads BK's goalkeeper, giving Malmö FF a 1-0 lead.

Malmö FF continued to pressure Halmstads BK, and in the 34th minute, it was Jo Inge Berget who scored his first goal of the evening, with an assist from Magnus Wolff Eikrem, extending the lead to 2-0.

However, Halmstads BK did not give up and reduced the deficit to 2-1 just two minutes later. Kwame Amponsah Karikari scored with an assist from Joseph Baffoe.

Malmö FF continued to press, and in the 51st minute, it was once again Jo Inge Berget who found the net, scoring his second goal of the evening and Malmö FF's third, thanks to a combination play with his teammates.

Halmstads BK fought on but failed to catch up, instead receiving two yellow cards during the match. Halmstads BK attempted to bring in some fresh energy through substitutions, but it didn’t help against Malmö FF. In the 83rd minute, Pawel Cibicki was substituted for Tobias Sana, and the two teams maintained the final score at 3-1.

Malmö FF left the field with three more points and now with even greater confidence heading into their upcoming matches. Halmstads BK, however, faced yet another defeat and needs to regain their form if they are to climb the table in Allsvenskan.
