GIF Sundsvall, in tenth place in the table, started the match strongly and created several dangerous situations in front of IF Elfsborg's goal. However, it was IF Elfsborg, in second place in the table, that would take the lead. After a substitution in the 59th minute, where Simon Lundevall came on for Arber Zeneli, Viktor Prodell strengthened IF Elfsborg's lead in the 78th minute. Per Frick provided the assist that led to the goal, and IF Elfsborg would not relinquish their lead.
This was not due to a lack of attempts from GIF Sundsvall. They substituted Robin Sellin in the 69th minute to bring in Daniel Sliper. Leo Englund also had a chance to help his team when he was substituted in for Johan Eklund in the 76th minute. Adam Chennoufi was also substituted in the 90th minute to give Smajl Suljevic a chance.
IF Elfsborg also made substitutions to maintain their lead. Simon Hedlund was substituted for Viktor Prodell in the 65th minute, and Andréas Klarström had to leave the field for Jesper Manns in the 79th minute.
The match ended with IF Elfsborg winning, largely thanks to Viktor Prodell's goal in the 78th minute. GIF Sundsvall fought hard to turn the match around, but it was not enough to earn points from IF Elfsborg.
