AIK hosted the derby against Hammarby at Friends Arena in front of a large crowd of over 41,000 spectators. After an opening period with few goal-scoring opportunities, Johan Persson from Hammarby received an early yellow card. AIK then substituted Henok Goitom for Nabil Bahoui just before halftime, while Hammarby replaced Oliver Silverholt with Lars Mendonca Fuhre.
AIK started the second half strongly, and it didn't take long before Goitom scored to make it 1-0 after a pass from Fredrik Brustad in the 56th minute. Hammarby then substituted Johan Persson for Philip Haglund and Linus Hallenius for Pablo Piñones-Arce in an attempt to create more chances going forward.
However, it was AIK that took control of the match, and in the 75th minute, Noah Sonko Sundberg doubled the lead to 2-0 after an assist from Ebenezer Ofori. AIK also made a substitution, as Fredrik Brustad was replaced by Anton Salétros.
Towards the end of the match, both AIK and Hammarby were shown a pair of yellow cards. Sauli Väisänen and Noah Sonko Sundberg received yellow cards for AIK, while Mats Goberg Solheim and Pablo Piñones-Arce were cautioned for Hammarby. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for AIK, which allowed them to move up to fourth place in the table while Hammarby remained in eighth place.
