AIK welcomed Falkenbergs FF on Wednesday evening at the National Arena in front of just over 10,000 spectators. Before the match, AIK was in sixth place in the table while Falkenbergs FF was in twelfth.
The match started with a high tempo, where AIK dominated large parts of the first half but struggled to create scoring opportunities. In the 26th minute, Dickson Etuhu opened the scoring for AIK after a nice attack. However, Falkenbergs FF quickly bounced back, and Stefan Rodevåg equalized in the 32nd minute. Falkenbergs FF substituted in Johannes Vall immediately after the goal, and this would prove to be a successful move. Vall scored to make it 1-2 at the start of the second half after a nice pass from Rodevåg.
AIK, however, did not want to be outdone and just three minutes later Johan Blomberg equalized to 2-2 after a fine pass from Nabil Bahoui. In the 71st minute, Henok Goitom scored his first goal of the evening, putting AIK ahead 3-2. Falkenbergs FF, however, were not ready to give up, and Dan Keat equalized to 3-3 just two minutes later.
But it wasn't over there. Goitom became the match-winner after scoring his second goal of the evening in the 75th minute. Falkenbergs FF tried to push for a fourth equalizer but were unsuccessful. The match ended 4-3 in favor of AIK.
It was a truly entertaining match where AIK emerged victorious and climbed to fourth place in the table, while Falkenbergs FF remained in twelfth place. AIK's next match is away against Malmö FF, while Falkenbergs FF will host Helsingborg at home.
