It was a sunny Sunday afternoon when Elfsborg and Gefle faced off at Borås Arena in front of an audience of nearly 7,000 people. Martin Hansson was in charge of officiating alongside Joakim Amri Nilsson and Jan-Erik Swärdh as assistant referees.

The match began with Elfsborg playing at a high tempo, and just 20 minutes in, Viktor Claesson scored by putting the ball behind Gefle's goalkeeper. Anders Svensson provided the assist in a beautiful combination play. However, Gefle quickly responded and equalized with a header from Ilir Berisha after a fine pass from Jonas Lantto. The teams went into halftime with the score at 1-1.

In the second half, Elfsborg took control of the match, and Arber Zeneli scored to make it 2-1 after a nice individual effort. Viktor Prodell then increased the lead to 3-1 following a great pass from Claesson. Both Svensson and Johan Bertilsson received yellow cards before Prodell scored his second goal of the match, again assisted by Claesson. Gefle tried to apply pressure but failed to score any more goals.

Elfsborg concluded the match impressively by scoring two goals in the last 15 minutes. Simon Hedlund made it 4-1 after a fine pass from Marcus Rohdén, and just a few minutes later, Hedlund netted his second goal of the match, bringing the score to 5-1 courtesy of another pass from Claesson. Anton Andreasson and Viktor Nilsson came on as substitutes towards the end of the match, and Elfsborg ultimately won 5-1.

After the final whistle, it was clear that Elfsborg played excellent football and deserved their victory. They showcased their strength and potential.
