AIK won an important match against GIF Sundsvall on Sunday evening at the National Arena, Friends Arena. The match started with a lead goal for the visitors through Pa Amat Dibba, assisted by Sebastian Rajalakso, in the fourth minute.

But AIK did not give up and Henok Goitom headed in an equalizer in the 19th minute off an assist from Niclas Eliasson. The game was even but AIK gained an advantage when GIF Sundsvall's Runar Sigurjonsson received a caution in the 34th minute followed by AIK player Nils-Eric Johansson in the 39th minute.

In the last minute of the first half, Mohamed Bangura received a pass from Goitom and headed wide, giving AIK the lead.

In the second half, Sam Lundholm was replaced by Fredrik Brustad for AIK and Robbin Sellin was replaced by Simon Helg for GIF Sundsvall. But it was Goitom who continued his fine play and scored his second goal in the 72nd minute, making the match difficult for GIF Sundsvall.

Goitom was cautioned for agreeing with his goalscorer during the celebration. After a number of substitutions on both sides, Fredrik Brustad got the chance to score his first goal for AIK, and he did so in the 85th minute, assisted by Goitom.

The match ended 4-1 in favor of AIK, and the crowd at Friends Arena got to see an AIK that managed an impressive turnaround after the early goal behind. Referee Stefan Johannesson had a calm match and there were no major incidents during the match.
