Before the match, GIF Sundsvall was in tenth place in the standings while AIK was in third place. Despite Sundsvall having home advantage, it was AIK that proved to be the stronger team from the start.
In the 38th minute, Alessandro Silva Pereira scored for the visiting team AIK, with an assist from Mohamed Bangura. Sundsvall made a substitution in the 73rd minute, bringing on Johan Eklund for Shpëtim Hasani in hopes of turning the match around.

Sundsvall played aggressively and received two yellow cards before the match was over. The first yellow card was shown to Dennis Olsson in the 69th minute, and the second, at the end of the match, went to Runar Sigurjonsson. One can assume they were showing frustration over yesterday's loss.
Sundsvall still tried to fight back, but AIK defended their lead, resulting in the final score of 0-2 in favor of the visiting team. AIK made three substitutions after their second goal, including one where Mohamed Bangura was replaced by Noah Sonko Sundberg in the 89th minute.
It was an exciting encounter between two competitive teams, and it was AIK that came out on top, earning three important points in the standings. Sundsvall will need to work harder to climb up the table.
