A packed Borås Arena was ready for an exciting match between IF Elfsborg and Åtvidabergs FF in Allsvenskan. Referee Per Melin and his assistant referees Joakim Amri Nilsson and Jan-Erik Swärdh had full control of the match.

Statistically, it was Åtvidabergs FF who should have been the better team after their goal in the 26th minute. Ammar Ahmed found the net after a nice assist from John Owoeri. IF Elfsborg struggled to find their rhythm at the beginning of the match.

However, after a while, IF Elfsborg settled into the match. In the 41st minute, Per Frick equalized, and the game continued at a high pace. Åtvidabergs FF were eager to take the lead again but simultaneously had trouble maintaining their game, which the referee rewarded with a yellow card for Daniel Hallingström in the 43rd minute.

The second half continued at a high tempo, with Åtvidabergs FF picking up two yellow cards in quick succession, first for Mauricio Albornoz Inola in the 59th minute and then for goalscorer Ammar Ahmed in the 61st minute.

IF Elfsborg brought in Simon Lundevall in the 66th minute and Lars Nilsson in the 72nd minute, which quickly led to Simon Lundevall scoring after an assist from Anders Svensson in the 77th minute.

Åtvidabergs FF responded fairly quickly by substituting in Simon Skrabb in the 78th minute, but his presence did not help the team cope with IF Elfsborg's pressure. Åtvidabergs FF made two additional substitutions before Arber Zeneli scored for IF Elfsborg in the 90 + 2nd minute after an assist from Viktor Claesson, and the match ended with a victory for the home team, 3-1.

IF Elfsborg is now in fourth place in the table, while Åtvidabergs FF sits at the bottom and struggles to rise in the standings. Despite the loss, Åtvidabergs FF put in a solid effort, but IF Elfsborg proved to be the stronger team in the end.
