IFK Göteborg secured an important victory at home when they faced BK Häcken on Wednesday evening. In front of a crowd of over 14,000 at Gamla Ullevi, the home team managed to win 1-0 after a tough and even match.

The match began with a high tempo and both teams pushed forward. However, it was IFK Göteborg that took the lead after just eight minutes when Søren Rieks received a pass from Emil Salomonsson and sent the ball into the net for his team.

BK Häcken tried to get back into the game and substituted Martin Ericsson for Demba Savage in the 53rd minute. But, just like before, IFK Göteborg was able to defend their lead and put pressure on the guests.

In the 57th minute, BK Häcken substituted Paulo José De Oliveira for Rasmus Schüller, but it did not help against an IFK Göteborg that continued to dominate.

In the 61st minute, IFK Göteborg substituted Gustav Engvall for Mikael Boman, and in the 62nd minute, they also substituted Emil Salomonsson for Martin Smedberg Dalence.

BK Häcken had a chance to equalize in the 75th minute when they substituted John Owoeri for René Makondele Muzola, but no more goals were scored during the match.

Even though BK Häcken pressed hard, they could not find the net, and instead, Joel Andersson of the guests received a yellow card in the 85th minute.

IFK Göteborg substituted goalscorer Søren Rieks for Mauricio Albornoz Inola in the 90th minute. Tobias Hysén from the home team also received a yellow card in the 90th minute.

The match ended 1-0 in favor of IFK Göteborg, and John Alvbåge from the home team received a yellow card in the last minute of stoppage time. With this victory, IFK Göteborg climbed to the top of the table, while BK Häcken remained in 4th place.
