Djurgården took the lead just 6 minutes into the match when Sam Garyahzon Johnson scored, assisted by Elliot Käck. Falkenbergs FF fought hard to come back, but Djurgården's defense held firm. After 13 minutes, Mathias Ranégie was fouled in the penalty area and took the penalty himself, scoring to make it 2-0 for Djurgården.

At the end of the first half, Christoffer Carlsson from Falkenbergs FF received a yellow card. Djurgården went into halftime with a comfortable lead and decided to substitute Mathias Ranégie for Michael Olunga.

The second half started with another goal from Johnson, again assisted by Käck, making the score 3-0. Falkenbergs FF received a yellow card in the 64th minute when Thomas Juel Nielsen was booked. Two minutes later, Kamal Mustafa was substituted for Stefan Rodevåg from Falkenbergs FF, and Alexander Faltsetas was substituted for Philana Tinotenda Kadewere from Djurgården.

Djurgården continued their offensive style of play, and Kevin Walker scored his first-ever header after a corner, bringing the score to 4-0. After 71 minutes, Omar Colley made it 5-0 following a nice assist from Kevin Walker.

Towards the end of the match, Johnson was substituted for Amadou Jawo, Karlsson was substituted for Jesper Karlsson, and Per Karlsson was substituted for Rasmus Sjöstedt. When the final whistle blew, it was clear that Djurgården had won the match 5-0 and was now at the top of the table, while Falkenbergs FF was at the bottom. It was a strong performance from Djurgården, which was met with applause from the large crowd of 15,134 people that had gathered at Tele2 Arena.
