In a packed Friends Arena in Stockholm, AIK faced IFK Göteborg in the third round of Allsvenskan. The home team AIK started the match impressively, and just nine minutes in, they took the lead 1-0 through Haukur Hauksson after a nice pass from Stefan Ishizaki. However, IFK Göteborg quickly regrouped, and after 29 minutes, Tobias Hysén scored following a fine assist from Mads Winther Albaek. Before the halftime break, both teams received yellow cards; first to IFK's Haitam Aleesami and then to Albaek.
At the beginning of the second half, AIK picked up another yellow card after a tough tackle by Ahmed Yasin. But it was still AIK that dominated the match, and after 54 minutes, Ishizaki scored from a beautiful free kick, putting AIK back in the lead. However, IFK Göteborg would not give up, and just four minutes later, Hjálmar Jónsson headed in a goal that found its way past AIK's goalkeeper.
After 62 minutes, IFK Göteborg took the lead through Tobias Hysén, who was served a great pass from Haitam Aleesami. AIK brought in Fredrik Brustad to try to catch up, and that turned out to be a smart move. Brustad scored to make it 3-3 after a nice pass from Ishizaki, and the crowd's cheer was deafening.
The match became a bit chaotic as John Alvbåge received a yellow card in stoppage time, and IFK Göteborg also made two substitutions. However, there were no more goals, and the match ended in a draw at 3-3. AIK remains in sixth place in the table while IFK Göteborg clings to second place.
