However, IFK Göteborg managed to equalize after 52 minutes through a penalty goal from Emil Salomonsson. The atmosphere in the stands heated up even more when Marko Biskupovic of Kalmar FF received his second yellow card and was sent off. Kalmar was now forced to play the remaining 30 minutes with one man down.
Kalmar made some substitutions in hopes of still achieving a victory, but IFK Göteborg held their ground and managed to create several dangerous chances. Despite this, neither team could decide the match, and it ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams fought hard and played with great heart, but the result was a shared point for the two teams. Kalmar FF will play their next match against Malmö FF, while IFK Göteborg will face Helsingborgs IF.
