An intense match at Tele2 Arena ended in a surprising away win for Hammarby, who took three points against Djurgården.
It was Hammarby who opened the scoring just 12 minutes in. Alexssander Medeiros De Azeredo scored a beautiful goal following a fine pass from Erik Israelsson. However, Djurgården responded quickly and equalized through Sam Garyahzon Johnson in the 25th minute, after an assist from Daniel Mikal Aas Berntsen.
But Hammarby did not back down, and in the 41st minute it was again Medeiros De Azeredo who found the back of the net, this time with an assist from Arnór Smárason. The second half began with strong pressure from Djurgården, but Hammarby managed to hold their ground and their defense stood firm.
In the 62nd minute, Erik Israelsson hit a shot that went through the wall and into the net behind Djurgården's goalkeeper, resulting in an important 3-1 for the away team. Djurgården desperately tried to get back into the match, but the away side managed to maintain their lead.
The match concluded with two substitutions for the away team, while Djurgården received a warning through Mathias Ranégie in the 92nd minute. Hammarby can thank a strong collective effort and their defense for this important away victory, and Djurgården will return to their coaches with plenty to ponder.
