Malmö FF faced AIK at Swedbank Stadion in a match that turned out to be a tough battle. In front of a crowd of over 20,000, it was the home team that started the strongest, and after ten minutes, the first warning was issued when AIK's Per Karlsson received a yellow card for a hard tackle.

Malmö continued to press their opponents, and after 34 minutes, AIK made their first substitution, bringing in Haukur Hauksson for Patrick Kpozo. Despite this, Malmö managed to take the lead just a few minutes later when Magnus Wolff Eikrem scored after a fine pass from Oscar Lewicki.

Shortly thereafter, Malmö FF's Kari Arnason received a yellow card after a tough duel, and at the start of the second half, AIK's Ebenezer Ofori was booked for diving.

AIK made two substitutions in the middle of the second half, while Malmö FF brought in Erdal Rakip to strengthen their midfield play. Markus Rosenberg was substituted out, and Franz Brorsson came in during the final minutes of the match.

Despite some dangerous chances from AIK, Malmö FF managed to hold their lead, and in the 90th minute, Alexander Jeremejeff made a fine pass to Anders Bleg Christiansen, who scored to make it 2-0 for the home team. Malmö FF thus won the match in front of a cheering home crowd at Swedbank Stadion.
