Malmö FF continued their strong form when they faced IF Elfsborg at Swedbank Stadion on Thursday night. In a packed arena, with an attendance of 16,597, the match was closely contested during the first 45 minutes with no real dangerous chances for either team.

At halftime, Malmö FF substituted Magnus Wolff Eikrem in favor of Victor Yoshimar Yotun Flores. However, it wasn't until the 63rd minute that Malmö made a decisive change when Pa Konate came on for Kari Arnason.

IF Elfsborg made their first substitution in the 74th minute when Thomas Kind Bendiksen replaced Simon Olsson. At the same time, Malmö made their second substitution with Erdal Rakip coming on for Oscar Lewicki. Another warning was issued to Viktor Claesson from IF Elfsborg.

In the 82nd minute, Viktor Prodell was substituted for Per Frick in a final attempt by IF Elfsborg to secure points. But it was Malmö FF that managed to score the only goal of the match when Erdal Rakip found the net after an assist from Anton Tinnerholm in the 90th minute.

Rakip also received a yellow card for his goal celebration, but Malmö FF managed to fend off the last minutes to secure the victory. The final score was 1-0 to Malmö FF, who continue their pursuit of the top spot in the league. IF Elfsborg remains in 7th place in the table after a strong performance despite the loss. The match referee was Glenn Nyberg, assisted by Stefan Hallberg and Mikael Hallin.
