It was a cold and windy Sunday afternoon in Stockholm when Djurgården hosted IF Elfsborg at Tele2 Arena. Djurgården, sitting second to last in the table, were eager to secure their first three points of the season, while Elfsborg, ranked 6th in the table, aimed to continue their strong start to the season.

The match began at a high tempo, and just two minutes in, Djurgården took the lead through Gustav Engvall. With an assist from Elliot Käck, Engvall struck the ball past Elfsborg’s goalkeeper. Just four minutes later, after a nice header from Kerim Mrabti, it was already 2-0 to Djurgården, with Kim Källström providing the assist.

Elfsborg fought to get back into the match, but Djurgården’s defense held strong. In the 22nd minute, Alex Dyer received a yellow card for a rough tackle, a caution that would prove to be his last involvement in the match. Just before halftime, Per Frick was substituted for Viktor Prodell in the Elfsborg team.

In the second half, Djurgården extended their lead through Magnus Eriksson, who scored following a fine pass from Othman El Kabir. Issam Jebali and Anders Degn Randrup received yellow cards for Elfsborg, and the team attempted to sub out Simon Olsson for Lars Nilsson in an effort to create offense. Jesper Karlsson came on for Daniel Gustafsson, but it proved too late to catch Djurgården, who already had a comfortable lead. Djurgården also substituted Gustav Engvall for Jesper Karlström, who would help defend their lead, and Jonathan Augustinsson replaced Kerim Mrabti. The final score was 3-0 to Djurgården, marking their first victory of the season. Andreas Ekberg officiated the match, assisted by Stefan Hallberg and Joakim Amri Nilsson as assistant referees. The attendance was 11,435.
