The match started evenly, with both teams having several dangerous goal-scoring opportunities, but it was in the tenth minute that Elfsborg took the lead. Viktor Prodell scored, giving the home team an advantage. Simon Lundevall provided the assist for the goal.

Örebro received a warning for Chibuike Kennedy Igboananike in the nineteenth minute, and Elfsborg's Issam Jebali was cautioned seven minutes later. The home team’s Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard also received a yellow card.

Rosenqvist received a warning in the 83rd minute as the match neared its conclusion. But there was still time for Elfsborg to increase their lead, and in the third minute of stoppage time, they were awarded a penalty. Lundevall stepped up and confidently put it away, ending the match 3-0 in favor of Elfsborg.
