It was an afternoon that did not go GIF Sundsvall's way as they visited Guldfågeln Arena to play against Kalmar FF in Allsvenskan. Already in the 13th minute, Kalmar took the lead through Romario Pereira Sipiao, assisted by Melker Hallberg. Just seven minutes later, Svante Ingelsson increased the score to 2-0 for the hosts, putting significant pressure on the visiting team.

In the 27th minute, Melker Hallberg scored himself, further extending Kalmar FF's lead, assisted by the day's goalscorer Romario Pereira Sipiao. Romain Gall of GIF Sundsvall also received a yellow card in the 37th minute.
