IF Elfsborg achieved a convincing victory in Sunday’s match against IFK Norrköping FK at Platinumcars Arena in front of an audience of 9,325 spectators.
Just 33 minutes into the match, Elfsborg took the lead through Simon Lundevall, and only two minutes later, Alex Dyer doubled the score to 0-2 after a nice pass from Issam Jebali.
Norrköping attempted to come back into the game and reduced the deficit early in the second half through Sebastian Andersson, who headed the ball in after a fine cross from David Moberg Karlsson.
However, Elfsborg refused to be disheartened and continued to press Norrköping. Adam Lundqvist received a yellow card after a tough tackle, and both teams made several substitutions in an effort to change the course of the match.
In the 88th minute, Emir Bajrami decided the match in Elfsborg's favor with his goal, finalizing the score at 1-3. Simon Lundevall assisted on the goal, making him the match's first goal scorer and also the player of the match.
Referee Mohammed Al-Hakim had a good day at work, keeping the match under control along with his assistant referees Mahbod Beigi and Robin Wilde.
With this important victory, Elfsborg takes home three points and climbs to fifth place in Allsvenskan. Norrköping will continue to fight to find their form and move up into the upper half of the table.
