Hammarby continued their good form as they faced IF Elfsborg at Tele2 Arena in the Allsvenskan. In front of an audience of over 20,000, the match got off to a fast start, and already in the sixth minute, Hammarby's Birkir Mar Saevarsson received a warning.
Hammarby took the lead in the 21st minute when Bjørn Paulsen headed the ball in after a corner. However, IF Elfsborg equalized just seven minutes later through Daniel Gustafsson, assisted by Simon Lundevall.
A couple of minutes later, IF Elfsborg's Samuel Holmén received a warning. In the 54th minute, Bjørn Paulsen scored his second goal of the evening, giving Hammarby the lead again, this time assisted by Pa Amat Dibba.
In the second half, we also saw more substitutions. Hammarby substituted Jiloan Mohamed Hamad for Leo Bengtsson, and Jeppe Andrup Andersen was replaced by Kennedy Bakircioglu. IF Elfsborg also made two substitutions, bringing in Alex Dyer for Simon Olsson and Jon Jönsson for Jesper Manns.
In the 84th minute, we saw a final substitution for Hammarby as Pa Amat Dibba was replaced by Romulo Cabral Pereira Pinto. Despite a few dangerous chances towards the end of the match, IF Elfsborg was unable to come back, and Hammarby won the match 2-1.
