Djurgården managed to secure an important away victory against IFK Norrköping FK at Platinumcars Arena in Sunday evening’s Allsvenskan match. The home team began the match with renewed confidence, but it was the visitors who had the first dangerous attack through Kerim Mrabti, resulting in a yellow card for him as early as the eighth minute. IFK Norrköping FK responded with Jón Gudni Fjóluson, who also received a yellow card in the same minute as Mrabti. However, this did little to help when, in the 66th minute, Djurgården managed to get the ball in the net with a shot from Mrabti, assisted by Kim Källström.
IFK Norrköping FK continued to fight for an equalizer but struggled to cope with Djurgården’s tactical defending. Djurgården, however, had to tackle in midfield to thwart the advances of IFK Norrköping FK players, which led to further yellow cards for both teams. IFK Norrköping FK made three substitutions in an attempt to regain control of the match, but it didn’t help, and Djurgården managed to hold on until full time.
Although the match was more even than the final score suggests, it was still Kerim Mrabti who decided the game for Djurgården with his goal. This was a very important victory for Djurgården, who now have a four-point lead in sixth place in the Allsvenskan, while IFK Norrköping FK remains in tenth place with sixteen points.
