Pa Amat Dibba scored the opening goal after a fine attack by the home team. The goal gave Hammarby an early advantage and a pleasant feeling on the pitch.
However, AIK tried to equalize, and after having several chances, they succeeded in the last minute of the first half. Kristoffer Olsson scored from a free kick that went past everyone in Hammarby's penalty area and into the net, making it 1-1.
The second half was evenly matched, and both teams created several dangerous chances. AIK had some good play on the left flank while Hammarby focused on counterattacking. The match featured several tough duels and shots. Nils-Eric Johansson received a yellow card for AIK, and Pa Amat Dibba for Hammarby.
Hammarby had another chance to take the lead through Rebin Asaad, who came on as a substitute in the 45th minute, but his shot missed the target. Kennedy Bakircioglu then came on and tried to create more offensive play for the home team, but AIK defended strongly.
Denni Avdic came on as a substitute for AIK, but he too could not find the decisive goal in the match. The match ended 1-1, and the teams thus shared the points.
Referee Jonas Eriksson and his assistant referees Mathias Klasenius and Daniel Wärnmark had a good match as they kept the game clean and effectively monitored the tough duels. Both Hammarby and AIK can take a point away from the match, but neither team was likely completely satisfied with the result.
