Last Sunday afternoon, GIF Sundsvall and Djurgården met at Idrottsparken in a match that turned out to be a real thrashing. Djurgården stepped onto the field as strong favorites and immediately showed that they were after victory. 21 minutes into the match, they found their opening when Philana Tinotenda Kadewere scored a goal, taking the lead 0-1.

GIF Sundsvall fought hard to catch up, but Djurgården kept up the pressure and would soon be rewarded again. In the 24th minute, Magnus Eriksson scored his first goal of the day after an assist from Gustav Engvall, and a little over ten minutes later, Felix Beijmo sealed the match by scoring Djurgården’s third goal, again after an assist from Engvall.

The second half did not get any better for the home team, which conceded two more goals in quick succession. Eriksson had the chance to score his second goal of the day from the penalty spot, and just a few minutes later, Jesper Karlström netted his first goal for Djurgården after an assist from Beijmo.

The match was completely dead, and Djurgården were dominant. The home crowd at Idrottsparken was silent but anxious. They wanted to see their team score at least one goal, but that didn’t happen. Instead, they watched Jesper Karlström score his second goal of the day, bringing the final score to a resounding 0-5 in favor of Djurgården.

After the match, Djurgården continued to hold a solid 2nd place in the standings, while GIF Sundsvall remains in a tough fight, sitting at 13th place. Unfortunately, the final whistle was proof of a tough and uneven match for the home team.
