IFK Göteborg showcased good play as they defeated Trelleborgs FF 3-1 at Vångavallen in front of a crowd of 5,509 spectators. Elías Már Ómarsson gave the visitors the lead after 21 minutes, and Trelleborg's central defender Alexander Blomqvist received a yellow card for pulling down an opponent. Shortly after, Trelleborgs FF equalized thanks to a fine effort from Zoran Jovanovic, who was assisted by Ottar Magnus Karlsson.
After a balanced first half where both teams created chances, it was IFK Göteborg who gained the upper hand in the second half. Elías Már Ómarsson scored his second goal of the day, assisted by Tobias Hysén, and Vajebah Sakor headed in the goal that sunk the home team. Trelleborgs FF substituted in Deniz Hümmet and Felix Hörberg and desperately tried to reduce the deficit, but neither they nor the third substitute for Vångavallen, Sebastian Ohlsson, could turn the match around. Instead, it was IFK Göteborg's August Erlingmark who came on and got a taste of the match tempo, which ended 3-1 in favor of IFK Göteborg. Trelleborgs FF’s Ottar Magnus Karlsson received a yellow card in the final minutes. Referee Kristoffer Karlsson had a good eye on the events on the pitch and was assisted by Daniel Gustavsson and Tobias Wärn.
