Match in Allsvenskan 2018
Match start: 2018-04-02 at 17:30
Venue: Idrottsparken
Attendance: 3,129

In a match characterized by tough tackles and few goal-scoring opportunities, neither team was able to break through their opponent's defense. GIF Sundsvall started the match strongly and applied pressure on Örebro from the outset, but despite several dangerous crosses and attempts, they could not get the ball over the goal line. Instead, it was Örebro that had the biggest chance of the match when Nahir Besara found himself in a good position in the penalty area, but his shot was saved by GIF goalkeeper William Eskelinen.

The match saw many hard tackles, and both teams received several cautions throughout the game. Carlos Moros Gracia and Juan José Ciercoles Sagra both received yellow cards for GIF Sundsvall in the first half. Even though GIF made a substitution after just 27 minutes, with Dennis Olsson replacing Samuel de los Reyes Domínguez, the flow of the game did not change significantly.

In the second half, both teams tried to find a way to take the lead, but neither was able to capitalize. David Batanero Puigbó received a yellow card for GIF Sundsvall just after the 70-minute mark, while Johan Mårtensson received one for Örebro a few minutes later. Örebro also made a substitution when Mårtensson came on for Simon Amin, but that change also failed to have a significant impact.

The match ultimately ended 0-0, and both teams had to settle for one point each. GIF Sundsvall remains in eighth place in the table, while Örebro is just behind in ninth. Referee Martin Strömbergsson and his assistants Andreas Söderkvist and Johan Thalin had a relatively calm and straightforward match to officiate, with few contentious moments during play.
