AIK demonstrated their dominance as they defeated IFK Göteborg 2-0 at Friends Arena in the Allsvenskan on Sunday, in front of a crowd of 19,619.
The match started well for AIK when Stefan Silva came on for Robert Lundström in the tenth minute. AIK continued to press and took a crucial lead in the 20th minute when Silva found the net, with Rasmus Lindkvist providing the assist. IFK tried to match AIK, but the AIK defense and goalkeeper stood strong.
AIK continued to play offensively in the second half, and Kristoffer Olsson was the one who extended AIK’s lead when he skillfully slotted the ball in following a nice collaboration with Rasmus Lindkvist in the 50th minute. The match became increasingly intense, and shortly after Victor Wernersson came on, the intensity continued as Kristoffer Olsson was cautioned for a rough tackle. Game-changer Denni Avdic was substituted in the 80th minute, and AIK looked to score another goal. However, AIK settled for their two goals and the three points in the match.
